Serving Lenoir and Greene Communities since 1955

Welcome!

Greetings and welcome to the official website of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® -Zeta Omicron Omega Chapter, nestled in the heart of Kinston, North Carolina.

I am truly honored to bring greetings on behalf of the members of the Zeta Omicron Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. Serving Kinston/Lenoir and Greene Counties, Zeta Omicron Omega Chapter was chartered on March 19, 1955, in Kinston, NC. For almost seventy-one years, we have provided impactful service to community residences. The members of Zeta Omicron Omega have always taken pride in our commitment to our community, where our roots run deep, and our dedication to supporting those around us has been a basis of our chapter's identity. With over 55 college-educated women who are actively committed to expanding the chapters' initiatives under the Leadership of our International President, Danette Anthony Reid, we are excited to Soar to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood.

"Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood" is the program theme for 2022-2026. The administration has six initiatives with Strengthen Our Sisterhood serving as the administration's "Foundation Initiative" where members strengthen their bonds of sisterhood while supporting the mission, to be of "Service to All Mankind."

The remaining five initiatives will serve as the "Program Initiatives" which include:

  • Empower Our Families
  • Build Our Economic Wealth
  • Enhance Our Environment
  • Advocate for Social Justice
  • Uplift Our Local Community

These programs are executed in collaboration with community partners who help our fellow citizens at the peak of impact.

Under my administration, Zeta Omicron Omega will continue to build on the leadership of its members while fulfilling the mission established over 118 years ago by Alpha Kappa Alpha founders and the vision of the international President, Danette Anthony Reid.
